Are we still afraid to look towards the future?

Mad Men is one of TV’s style success stories, influencing fashion audiences en masse. In conjunction with the show’s success, 50’s fashion has been used widely across the catwalks; as seen at Michael Kors fall/winter 2008/09, followed by Louis Vuitton, Prada, Giles, Fendi, and Marc Jacobs while a resurge of mid-length dresses and feminine silhouettes has emerged throughout the high street.

UK’s the BBC has produced their version of the U.S. hit TV series Mad Men, set to screen in late July. Called ‘The Hour’, the 6-part series is based on a TV newsroom in 1956 London. The formula of the show follows in the footsteps of Mad Men: Late 1950’s media ambitions, workplace revolution, romance and of course faultless fashion wardrobes.

Banana Republic has now gone as far to create a 65-piece Mad Men-inspired capsule collection featuring pieces for both men and women, plus accessories catering for the consumer mindset in favor of classic elegance and traditional silhouettes. Suits, dresses, skirts, blouses, trenches, bags and belts are brilliantly combined to provide a Joan Holloway, Betty Draper or Don Draper look. Produced in collaboration with AMC and Mad Men’s costumer designer, Janie Bryant, the collection will carry both the Mad Men and Banana Republic logos.

  1. I love Mad Men!

And I thought it would be easier to reply to you here. No, I didn't get through to the third round, but a trial was organised outside of the competition. I made a video with it too, but unfortunately I can't win!

Thanks for visiting my blog again :)
